Who are the characters in the story?
You play someone who left Bruges, and Maria, the love of your life, five years ago for a prestigious job in London. After that life fell apart, you come back with one aim: to win her back by following poetic clues to shared memories and places around the city.
Does the route pass the main square in Bruges?
Yes. The Market Square, the heart of Bruges, is the fifth stop, reached after St. Saviour's Cathedral, the Church of Our Lady with Michelangelo's Madonna and The Chocolate Line. From there you continue to Town Hall Square with the Holy Blood.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at the 't Zand tourist information point and finishes at the Lake of Love, so it is not a loop. Along the way you pass the Fish Market, the Dijver Canal, St Boniface Bridge, Old St. John's hospital, De Halve Maan brewery and the Beguinage.
How long does it take?
Most players take about three hours, including walking and solving the puzzles, over a route of 2.8 km. It is best played during the day. You can pause whenever you like, for a coffee or chocolate stop, and carry on later.
Can we play as a couple or a group, and do we need to book a time?
Yes, one ticket covers the whole group playing together on one phone, so a couple shares a single game. There is no set start time and no guide to meet: you begin at 't Zand whenever suits you.
