A hooded Oracle needs a ghost hunter. Every spirit is stuck on unfinished business: solve its mystery, catch it, and it gives up a clue. Follow the trail across town, crack ciphers and riddles (some only the street itself can answer), then name the Evil One and destroy it before it finds you. 🕷️

Yes. This is a self-guided ghost hunt played on your phone. The app leads you between ten stops, tells the story of each restless spirit and sets a cipher or riddle to solve. Catch the spirits, collect their clues, then name the Evil One among them.
Where does the haunted walk start and how far is it?
It starts at the Albany Institute of History & Art and covers about 2.3 km on foot. The route passes stops such as the Legislative Office Building, the George Washington Statue, the I Love NY Letters and One Commerce Plaza, all outdoors on the city streets.
How long does it take, and can we pause?
Plan on around 90 minutes, depending on how quickly your group cracks the puzzles. There is no fixed start time, so you can begin whenever you like, pause for a meal or a break from the weather, and pick up the hunt later where you left off.
Is it suitable for kids?
It suits older kids who enjoy ciphers and riddles and can handle a spooky story with an evil spirit to find and destroy. Some answers have to be found in the street itself, so children need patience for reading clues and looking around. Very young children may find it hard going.
