La experiencia

Sobre esta experiencia

This scavenger hunt takes you to several interesting and beautiful locations in Plattsburgh where environmental ethics come to life! You will walk along the Saranac River, through SUNY Plattsburgh's campus, and into the central city. Along the way you will observe interactions between humans and the environment, and consider how they shape our community.

¿Es para ti?

Para quién es

Families with school-age children, SUNY Plattsburgh students and locals who care about nature spend 1.5 to 2 hours walking 4.1 km along the Saranac River, across campus and downtown. Stops such as a community garden, a treehouse and an environmental restoration site prompt you to notice how people shape the land. Pick a different hunt if you want history stories about places, since this one has none.

Preguntas frecuentes

How long does it take and how far is the walk?
Plan on about 1.5 to 2 hours to cover roughly 4.1 km on foot. There is no fixed pace, and you can pause the game and continue later if you want a break or need to split it across two outings.
Is it suitable for kids?
Yes, it is marked family friendly and suits school-age children best. The puzzles ask you to observe how people and the environment interact at each stop, which works well for curious kids who can manage a walk of about 4 km.
Do we need to book a time, and can our group play together?
No booking slot is needed: you start whenever you like on your phone, with no guide and no other group. One ticket covers your whole group, up to the number of devices stated for the quest.
Is the route outdoors, and what should we bring?
The walk is outdoors along the river, through campus and downtown. Bring a hat, sunscreen and enough water, and make sure your phone is fully charged or carry a power bank, since the app guides you the whole way.
