Is this something we can do in Cambridge today, without booking?
Yes. There is no time slot to book and no group to join. Start whenever you like at The Guildhall Door and play on your phone. You can pause and pick it up later. Allow just over two hours for the 3.1 km route and its puzzles.
Where does the walk start and finish?
It starts at The Guildhall Door and finishes in Market square, so it is a loop that ends where it began. Along the way you pass The Eagle pub, New Museums Site, Pembroke College, Laundress Lane, Queens' College back gates, the University Library, Garret Hostel Bridge and Trinity College.
How long does it take?
Most players take a little over two hours, around 130 minutes, including walking and solving the puzzles. The route covers 3.1 km. You can pause at any point and continue later if you want a coffee or a longer look at a college.
Can we play as a couple or a small group?
Yes. One ticket covers the whole group playing together on the same game. It works especially well for couples and pairs, who can share the puzzles and the stories of the famous alumni connected to each stop.
Is it played outdoors, and what if it rains?
The game is played outdoors as you walk between stops such as Garret Hostel Bridge, college gates and the streets around Market square. Dress for the weather. Because there is no fixed start time and you can pause, you can wait out a shower and carry on afterwards.
